As a SLEEK PILATES ULTRA FIT PILATES PROFESSIONAL practitioner I am primarily moved and motivated by the creative impulse of movement that has the most amazing power to awaken awareness and engender wellness. Anyone wholeheartedly dedicated to sustaining wellness can embrace the healing and rejuvenating potential of movement through pilates. As a SLEEK PILATES ULTRA FIT PILATES PROGRAM facilitator and teacher I enjoy sharing this awakening and revitalizing experience of pilates with others.
As the creator of the SLEEK PILATES ULTRA FIT PILATES PROGRAM I have drawn from my lifetime passion as a dancer and creator of movement experience. My choreographic vocation envisioning movement sequences and making whole dances, together with authentically empowering explorations of pilates moves and exercise progressions has fueled my pedagogical dedication facilitating and promoting pilates as a movement method that will awaken transformative body awareness, enhance kinesthetic perception and improve neuromuscular proprioception. Facilitating and nurturing an understanding of body awareness, refining proprioceptive connections and kinesthetic perceptions through the practice of pilates I believe will foster improved physical conditioning and sensations of better well being by those who attend mindfully to the practice and experience.
LIVE WELL DO PILATES
In essence, It is my belief and assertion that the practice of pilates is about cultivating ones experience of being alive and making the choice to live consciously well. Joseph H. Pilates designed his conditioning method to reform bodies of poor health and to empower happy individuals embodied in fitter somatic vessels. Ultimately, how vital each and every one of us feels and lives, is essentially linked to how present, awake and aware we are during the many varied and wonderful experiences we encounter daily. How we choose to be present to those experiences and how we act in our own individual worlds from moment to moment influences not only how attentive we are to our own needs and aspirations but to all those around us, enabling us to respond compassionately to ourselves and to one another, ultimately, engendering our bodies and souls as empowered individuals, just and tolerant, caring family members, good friends and citizens of the world. The purpose and power of pilates practice is that it is a mindful method of physical conditioning that captures one’s heart and embraces one’s soul, quickening one’s spirit as it energizes one’s body and mind, enlightening one’s whole life making it better, positively influencing the energy field that surrounds one’s very being and through osmosis bares the power to affect all those in a positive way who come into contact with one’s more enlightened presence.
Inspirations To Live By
On this page, as the creator of the SLEEK PILATES ULTRA FIT PILATES PRO, I want to share with you what inspires me most from day to day because that is who I am, how I operate in this world and what led me to practice and teach pilates. I want to share with you what I value and embrace most from deep within my soul, rather than what laurels I may have accrued along the way. Essentially, each one of our identities is defined by how we act daily, what we do, what we think, what we feel and what we say from moment to moment. What we believe and aspire towards in our hearts on a daily basis moment to moment will influence how our life’s actions play out in the world. How we spend and value our time and what we focus our energy on or into daily from moment to moment ultimately reveals to us and to those around us who we really are.
My love of movement began as a child exploring the beauty and wonders of the wilderness around me. I loved to climb trees as many children do. I was enthralled by natures intricate ladders of branches that lifted me upward toward the sky letting rays of golden sunshine peak through. Many years later as a jumping and tumbling dancer I was energized and awed by the invigorating transformative power of visually guided movement improvisations. My spirited journey of self discovery rallied by nature and later transformed within the studio refined by the disciplined study and spontaneous creation of precisely choreographed dances, included many myriad sensations, feelings and insights awakened by such experience. Any and all movement whether performed as an art or to reap fitness benefits has the potential to be an amazing meditative impetus and medium of experiential knowledge. By its very nature as a moving medium of perceptual and contemplative awareness, pilates is an inspired practice of subjective personal body wisdom.
Captivated by moving gestalts of perception and imagery I have spent many hours exploring kinesthetic worlds in myriad genres searching the intuitive parameters of my own creative self to find out what moves me most and the values I cherish deeply harbored within my yearning heart and intuitive soul. Many chimerical, energizing experiences have awakened in my somatic mien a joyful breath and litheness of being that has enabled me to appreciate this amazing sentient life we have all been given and a desire I choose to share with others. Pilates is an excellent modality that can enable anyone to embrace the joys of such vitally living experience.
Like everyone, I have rummaged through my share of life’s experiences, encountering both uplifting revelries and darker disappointments. Each of our experiences guides every one of us into the essential truth of our unique heart and mind showing us the places where our souls soar with the utmost intensity, where we breathe deepest with vitality and love, enabling us to be and to move with the most freedom and joy possible. When we inspire deeply and freely, however that may be, we are invited into a potentially very magical and sacred place, a duly awesome space, both terrifying and edifying, ultimately enrapturing our attention, our reflection and contemplation, devotion, gratitude, reverence and love.
As a professional movement muse what I have learned to be closest to my heart and the ultimate passion of my soul is the desire to generate a love and appreciation for my healthy moving body and a respect for all of moving life. This includes cultivating an appreciation for the vital life I have been given, as well as for the organic world I have been born into. This means gratitude, reverence and respect for all life, for all individuals and communities, embracing my own and the many interrelated life forms of this living planet, nurturing hope for all to live well and thrive in harmony.
Our world, including every one of the diverse creatures that inhabit it, is an amazing, awe inspiring place, but unfortunately we sometimes get lost in the pitfalls of our endeavors and we forget just how wonderful it is to strive towards our dreams, engaging our daily rituals and life’s unexpected challenges with passion and delight. Thus, it has become my unspoken passion, a mission to pursue, kindle and nurture ways of generating more empowering insight and strength to meet life head on, more love and honor for a harmony of being in a united world, initiating paths to generate more joy and inner peace, encouraging agency for positive action, deepening compassion for all life, perseverance to address life’s trials, ingenuity for personal empowerment, virtue and grace, gratitude for currants of wisdom, integrity for decision making, contentment for our rightful place, generosity for giving and nurturing care, trust for risk taking and hope for success, faith in and commitment to an abundance of deep seated intimate awareness and passion for growth. I believe pilates is one way of helping us to do this.
Teaching By Example
Embracing a sense of our own agency and empowerment to live life well doing the right thing and helping others cultivate their own awakening and inner strength to do the same vibrates radiantly within the individual and reverberates positively throughout our fragmented world enabling suffering communities to combat fear and hatred from the inside out. Communities of individuals who live wisely and choose well for themselves, teach and inspire one another and impact others to do the same. Through authentic interaction and contemplation, seeking deeply and sharing intimately our learning and wisdom we empower ourselves and our communities to live by right choices, the best our understanding offers, creating more positive energy and optimism in the world.
Through my work as a SLEEK PILATES ULTRA FIT PILATES PRO I walk a somatic path that enables me to embrace a spiritual vision in which I facilitate and nurture in my students more love and healing energy that has the potential to rejuvenate, uplift and empower lives. It is the purpose and perfection of pilates practice that will cultivate this gift of healing to correct erroneous ways of being and doing in the body and indirectly in the world. Through a radiance of inter-subjective ease and caring I believe we can create a communally unified power that will disrupt the more insidious ills rampant in an ignorant world.
Love of all life, love of others as ourselves including those different from us, the loving acceptance and tolerance for sharing all of life, is initiated first through authentic love, energy and care of our own selves; bodies, minds, hearts and souls. This can be as simple as taking the time to put ourselves through a focused program of rejuvenating pilates exercise, taking affirmative action that has the power to generate more insight, self esteem, vitality, strength, and awareness in our individual lives and more positive energy in our global world.
